Description
This release documents a strain of French black metal that had no use for refinement, mediation or comfort. Born from the Les Légions Noires orbit and tied to members of Vlad Tepes, it reduces the form to impact, abrasion and instinct. Short pieces. Minimal structure. Ugly production by design. Nothing here tries to seduce the listener.
What gives the release its force is not complexity. It is refusal. The songs move fast, hit hard and leave no unnecessary space around themselves. Even when the material feels chaotic, it never sounds accidental. The violence is deliberate. So is the ugliness. This is not black metal reaching upward toward grandeur. It is black metal collapsing inward until only hostility remains.
That is why the recording still matters. Many releases from the French underground became myth through scarcity alone. This one survives for a better reason: it still sounds dangerous. The spirit has not been neutralized. It still carries the same anti-polish logic, the same primitive contempt, and the same refusal to become respectable.
Reference points exist, of course. Vlad Tepes. Mütiilation. Belkètre. Torgeist. However, Vermyapre Kommando does not need those names to justify itself. It stands on its own as a concentrated piece of LLN extremity, one that captures the French underground at its most stripped, confrontational and unfiltered.
